Convergence: Origins

In the year 2012 Earth was in the prime of its communication era. Telephones, radios, TVs, computers. All inventions Humanity had never even dreamed of hundreds of years ago. To them life was ordinary and monotonous. Stories were told of aliens or vampires, but they were nothing more than stories. Or so they thought.
Hidden among society there not only humans but supernatural beings who took on their form. Vampires, Lycans, Witches and Demons; all lived in secrecy to protect themselves from persecution and also to protect the humans from their powers. Most of them knew what the cost of exposure was and they would fight those who threatened to reveal them. Everything was safe and sound until one evening in the spring.
A man fell from the sky and landed into a field of fresh flowers. He had no memory or knowledge of who or what he was. Only when his brother, Ven, told him his name and the fact he was a demon did he start to remember. Still he was confused to where he had come from but his brother didn’t know that either. However all he cared about was getting the man home to the others.
“This is Dan, my brother.” Ven had announced to them. A group of misfits and friends. Some of them took on nicknames usually to do with animals. Panda was actually a Shadow Mage, Cat was a Neko proficient with knives, and Kitty was a Vampire. David was a demon too, however his fire was a standard red whereas Dan’s conjured as blue. What interested them most was the fact that Ven was not a demon, yet he was related to Dan.
“The demon uses Dan as a host, my brother is still very much related to me.”
With the group introduce and Dan settling in, he began helping them on their missions to keep the supernatural world secret from humans. It seemed however that their efforts were soon to proved fruitless. Only a week after Dan’s arrival there came a shuddering all over the Earth. From the ground and the sky opened portals of white and red. Angels bearing wings of pure light swooped down with glowing swords, whilst Demons forged in fire and anguish rose to face them.
Earth had unwittingly become the battleground for the war between Heaven and Hell...
Supernaturals now had two choices; flee or fight. Ven’s group chose the latter and banded together to repel the forces of Hell. Over numerous battles they fought together, utilising their bonds to make one of the most effective teams in the war. For their efforts they were met by the Queen of Heaven, Heather, who began joining them in battle on occasion.
However in between these battles Dan had been going on trips to discover a way to end the war once and for all. On these journeys he unlocked the lost realm of Purgatory, a plane of existence created to be the neutral ground between Heaven and Hell. Stepping into this realm and claiming it’s power for himself, he was quickly corrupted by it’s maddened souls. Now with the near-unlimited forces of Purgatory behind him he began fighting both sides of the war. Soon enough his friends caught wind of the news and made it their mission to release him from the corruption. Together they fought their way into Purgatory itself and rescued him from the clutches of the realm. On their way out they sealed the realm off so that it would hopefully not be found again.
By the time their mission had come to end so had the fighting. Battles were now less often and smaller as both sides struggled to recover from the intense war efforts. The war was now less of a priority for Ven’s group, now instead more concerned with surviving in this new world where supernaturals were publicly revealed. Humanity had already begun improving their technology and building new armies to help defend themselves from what they saw as a new threat. Even the idea of countries was slowly dissolving as they established a Unified Earth Government. It was around this time the group began seeing things differently.
Ven believed they had to keep fighting Hell no matter what. His brother Dan however refused on the grounds that enough blood had been shed already. During the fighting they already lost Cat, and it wasn’t long before they lost more. With the two brothers unable to come to a truce, they split the group. The majority followed Dan, fearing for their lives and preferring the idea of living in peace. Ven had few allies, such as Shadow (who was exactly that, a Shadow) and Heather. For a while the two sides merely stayed apart, but their clashing seemed inevitable.
During their time away from the war Dan’s group had been going through troubles of their own, including Dan losing his demonic powers. It was during this period of humanity that he came across Ven again, who had mindlessly been dooming his friends to die in the still ongoing war. Angered by his brother’s choices and actions, Dan reached for the only weapon on him, a crossbow, and killed his brother with three solid arrows.
The intense hatred unleashed by killing his brother started Dan’s massacres. With enough dark emotion to recover his demonic powers he lay waste to villages and towns in the realm of Mytheria. His slaughters and horrific deeds went down in the legends of The Blue Demon. Upon returning to Earth he found the war still ongoing but now with the UNSC, Earth’s united military, on Heaven’s side. Sick of the fighting and unable to quell his demonic rages, Dan left his friends.
Without the two brothers the others made their choices once again. Panda left Earth for the Shadow Realm, sealing herself off to become to Queen of her own world. David left to try and follow Dan, but was later found dead by his hand. Kitty, Shadow, and the others rejoined the war to fight once more, hoping they could end it finally. It wasn’t long before Shadow was slain in battle. Countless battles ensued across all the realms, until finally they uncovered the source of the war. A seal within the Tomb of the Apocalypse had been broken; which meant the Horseman of War had been free all this time.
Tracking down the Horseman to No Man’s Realm, where many of the battles had taken place, the forces of Heaven fought a violent battle with him. Not only did the Humans and Kitty’s group come to their aid, but so too did Dan. With their might combined they defeated the Horseman of War, sealing him back within the Tomb and breaking his cursed war. For now things began to settle, leaving Humanity, Heaven, and Hell all to recover.
In the meantime Dan remained with the group, unable to truly leave them behind for good. Whether it was his attraction to Kitty or his, albeit askew, sense of morality, he was loyal to them in the end. Naively they thought the bloodshed was behind them and life would return to peace once more.
The truth was they were only just beginning to write their history...
